Nana Tchikhinashvili was born and raised in Tbilisi (Georgia). She was singing in various professional choirs since her sixth year. After her high school, Nana followed the music college, a compulsory course in Georgia to be admitted to the Conservatory. She chose for choral conducting as a major subject, with piano and singing. In 1989 she was admitted to the State Conservatory in Tbilisi. During her study of choral conduct and singing, Nana was accepted as one of the youngest professional concert singers in the Academic State Choir. She was also appointed as conductor of this choir. During her work as a conductor, she developed her own style of choir direction. In 1994 she graduated as a singer and conductor. Since 1995, Nana lives and works in the Netherlands.

In November 2001, Nana founded the chamber choir Moderato Cantabile.  In 2007 she became the conductor of BMF, Byzantine Man choir Friesland. The choir consists of an average of 26 choir members with extensive vocals and choir experience, since its inception, the special choir sounds developed, has a wide and versatile repertoire.

When the repertoire is chosen, the conductors lead mainly to the beauty of the music. The choir regularly brings pieces together that are hardly heard elsewhere. It also does not want to capture a certain direction within classical music.

Meanwhile, Nana Tchikhinashvili has many compositions on her name. She specially composed a mass called Moderato Cantabile, the same name as her own choir. She dedicated Ave Maria to her own mother Jujuna, and Pater Noster to her father Guram. In 2016 she composed Miserere Nobis, Cherry Tree, Ladybug and Jesus. At Cherry Tree and Ladybug, Nana has inspired by a poem by her Georgian cousin Donara Tvauri (1956 - 2001) about lost love.

Composition Jesus is made for mixed choir, solo (soprano) and viola, played by her daughter Ani Natroshvili (violist) and the piece has been dedicated to her as well.
